The book chronicles a few short cycling trips that John took in 2018 and 2019 encompassing Spain, France and Italy before once again riding the whole route of the 2019 Tour de France, one week ahead of the professionals. John describes in words and pictures his experience of riding a three-week Grand Tour, secure in the knowledge that he has done it before and can do it again - only this time both the temperature and the mountains would be higher, presenting challenges of a different sort.
