Over Christmas and New Year 2022/3, Steve and Jackie fled the UK winter and joined a Naturetrek group, birding in Honduras. They and three others plus Alex Alvarado, their guide, first spent a few days in the mountains, where the highlight was a male Resplendent Quetzal, before joining five more travellers for the lowland part of the trip. The weather was not good during the latter but nevertheless, a wide diversity of birds and other wildlife was seen. Steve and Jackie remained there, at Pico Bonito Lodge for two extra days, when the sun shone once more and the rain ceased.
